Wedding Season, Part I: The Bridal Flip Flop

Wedding season has begun in earnest, and we all need options on what to wear either as guests or as members of the wedding party.

Every wedding has its own theme, so we will break it down into some different styles from which to choose.

We begin with one end of the spectrum. Ever since I learned about wedding flip-flops, I haven’t been able to get them out of my head. Actually, you can get a whole range of them, from slippers to platforms. Amazing when you think about it, and affordably priced. The fanciest ones are about $30. And if you are jetting off to Hawaii or the Galapagos to be part of a destination wedding, these probably fit easily into a suitcase, too.

I once went to a wedding where everyone was meant to be barefoot, though had you worn a pair of these, I doubt you would have been asked to remove this much fabulousness!

Read the interview with Christopher McDougall, author of Born to Run. He notes that children run before they walk, and that running shoes may be a major source of running-related injuries.

Thank goodness he doesn’t say that we should avoid heels.
